Dear Bryant,

Russell Edmunds has asked me to reply to your letter of 14th March about the question of accounting for stores supplied to Hong Kong. As you know we have always taken the view (for example, during the Financial Conference) that a satisfactory statement of accounts would be necessary in order that this matter should be properly finalised. But if you are satisfied (a) that Hong Kong can produce no more than she has and (b) that what has been produced is satisfactory from your point of view, we agree that this need not be pressed further.

We should be interested to see in due course the statement which you propose to supply to the P.A.C. in response to their request.

G. Bryant, Esq.,

Colonial Office,

Yours sincerely,

DAL relent
